About Kairos
Who we are:
Kairos is a movement of people and communities working together to transform the systems that drive injustice. Rooted in faith and animated by a commitment to human dignity, Indigenous sovereignty and global solidarity, we bring together diverse voices to advance justice for people and the planet.
For more than 25 years, Kairos has convened churches, Indigenous leaders, grassroots organizers, global partners and individuals across generations and sectors to deepen understanding, strengthen relationships and take collective action. We believe lasting change happens when people come together around shared analysis and a shared commitment to act.
An ecumenical movement for justice.
Kairos was founded by Canadian churches and religious organizations that recognized they could accomplish more together than apart. Today, that ecumenical spirit remains at the heart of who we are.
Our members come from different traditions, experiences and perspectives, united by a common conviction: faith calls us to confront injustice and work toward right relationship with one another and the Earth. We embrace dialogue, challenge one another with respect and act together in pursuit of the common good.
Ecumenism for us is not simply cooperation between churches. It is a practice of collective responsibility, humility and shared action in a deeply interconnected world.
