Our Impact

Kairos turns learning into action for justice. Across Canada and globally, we work with Indigenous leaders, churches, global partners, volunteers and supporters to build relationships, strengthen movements and advance lasting change.

Education & Partnerships

Through education and partnerships, Kairos supports Indigenous-led learning, relationship-building and community-based leadership. Programs like the Kairos Blanket Exercise and Wisdom in Action: Indigenous Elders Leading Change  deepens understanding of colonization, upholds Indigenous rights and takes meaningful steps towards truth, accountability and right relationship.

The Kairos Blanket Exercise is growing a movement for truth, reconciliation and right relationship. This powerful experiential learning tool helps participants understand the historical and ongoing impacts of colonization on Indigenous Peoples in Canada and around the world.

Today, 74 Kairos Blanket Exercise partners are carrying this work forward across Canada, creating more opportunities for reflection, dialogue and action.
A renewed training framework launched in Vancouver is strengthening the quality, consistency and cultural grounding of each Kairos Blanket Exercise experience.
Already, 42 facilitators have been recertified, building confidence and shared practice for sessions that move people from learning to meaningful action.
Facilitators describe the training as a chance to learn from one another, exchange approaches and deepen their capacity to guide participants with care.
Your support helps this learning reach farther — equipping facilitators and instructors to bring the Kairos Blanket Exercise into more schools, faith communities, public institutions, Indigenous communities and workplaces.

Facilitators shared that recertification was practical, relational and impactful:

“It was helpful to hear what things other facilitators include in their sessions.” — Tymmarah Mackie

“I enjoyed meeting the other facilitators and hearing about their facilitation experiences.” — Bridget Findlay

“The session was very impactful… their facilitating styles and tips were very helpful.” — Susan McBratney

Policy Change & Mobilization

By connecting issues that are often treated separately — Indigenous rights, ecological justice, gender justice, migrant justice, peace and economic justice — Kairos   brings lived experience into advocacy, institutions and public narratives.
